Winery description

Its owner, Jesús, comes from a family of winemakers in Ourense, and although the estate was initially used as a snail farm, he decided to make wine using the traditional method using only homegrown grapes.

It has a plantation of almost 8,000 square metres, thus being able to produce between 3,000 and 4,000 litres of wine per year.

The grape varieties that make up its wine are: ALBARIÑO 80%, LOUREIRA 15% and TREIXADURA 5%.

After planting, he began with the construction (construction of the winery, barbecue, restaurant ...) in the upper part of the farm. It is made of recycled stone from Vigo, Ourense, Illa de Arousa, etc ... From the dining room you can see the vineyard, which goes downhill.

The whole project was designed by Jesus, always respecting the environment. Its wooden beams stand out, which like the stone, belonged to other, previous constructions.

This winery run by Jesús and his family, in addition to being able to take a guided tour and learn about the process of making Albariño wine first-hand, we can also enjoy a wine tasting or taste some of their delicious tapas.

Jesús, in his vineyards, practices green pruning (during the months of May and June) to avoid Mildew and thus have a better quality of grape. The objective of this viticulturist is: "Less quantity but more quality".

Another characteristic of this winery is the optimal ripening of the grapes, which is achieved by delaying the harvest until October.

In addition, the fertiliser of its plantation is completely organic, since it only uses the horse fertiliser belonging to the equestrian centre that is located next door.
