Winery description

It is a small company that faces the challenge of giving continuity to the family tradition of Ramón Padín Chaves, known as “O Perello” because he liked to party (hence the name of the winery), dedicated to the production of Albariño wine. Ramiro, his son, is the current owner, since 1987, following the winemaking tradition.

The meaning of Perello is a “fantastic being, funny, harmless and mocking goblin.” It was said that he was a goblin who entered houses and messed things up. For this reason they left grains of corn and wheat in front of the doors for him to take and thus he did not enter to make mischief inside their houses.

The winery's philosophy is to continue making wine in a traditional way, combining with the help of new techniques, with the sole objective of improving the quality of the product.

100% of the grapes with which O Perello wine is made are harvested in its own vineyards, which together with the care of the plants and their fruit, as well as the harvesting at its optimum level, combine the ideal condition for the elaboration of a wine of maximum purity.

They have a production of 7000 to 8000 litres per year although the winery has the capacity to hold up to 27000 litres.

In this winery they have an old vine dating back to 1929.
